Dr. Kun Xie is an Associate Professor of Transportation Engineering and Director of the Transportation Informatics Lab at Old Dominion University. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the Transportation Research Record and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference. His research focuses on AI-driven, data-informed, and human-centered approaches to transportation safety and resilience.
【讲座内容简介】
Traffic crashes often arise from complex, split-second interactions between vehicles and pedestrians. This seminar presents a series of studies on modeling crash avoidance behaviors using deep reinforcement learning, with a focus on safety-critical vehicle–pedestrian interactions at intersections. It introduces methods for assessing safety risks, modeling interactive decision-making, comparing automated and human-driven vehicle behaviors, and generating realistic safety-critical datasets.
