Dr. Longbotham will talk about how analytics are used in E-business, based on his work at Amazon.com, Microsoft (Bing and other web properties) and Booking.com. He will discuss how to collect and use data to meet business objectives. He will also discuss different types of analyses that are used to accomplish various tasks. In addition he will discuss difficulties an analyst may encounter. Finally, he will discuss different types of employment opportunities in this area.

This talk will be of interest to anyone interested in math, statistics, data mining, computer science or E-business. It will be entirely in English and the slides will be available for attendees after the lecture.
